Two Stoned
Two Stoned transforms rocks from the artist’s late father’s garden into audio interfaces for sharing oral histories. Touching different zones on the rocks triggers audio tracks to play from speakers throughout the gallery. The audio tracks contain clips from oral history interviews featuring the artist’s family members. Many of the stories reference the family’s participation in The Great Migration from the American South to Michigan.
